After a night in Reno, I’ve decided to spend the night by Lake Tahoe. I found a city park called Campground by the lake.
It is definitely very close to the beach, you just have to cross the main road and you are there. You can find many great biking trails nearby. I took a 13 miles bike ride. The casinos and nicer dining areas are within a mile or two.
The park attracts younger crowds, mainly families in the summer. Lots of kids are playing and biking outside. It is a nice way to spend a family vacation.
There were volunteers greeting me at the entrance. First, I got a site that was already taken when I went back they’ve corrected this error and gave me another site.
What I didn’t like about this park were the dirt sites, you can never really feel clean even if you just walked out of the shower. You got dirt on your feet right away.
The showers were very weak and old.
Overall I liked this park, but more for a good family vacation
