I found out about Tapo Canyon Park via the RVParky app and I’ve decided to give it a visit. It was $37/night and it’s all self-serve. You can only make a reservation online 14 days in advance, if you are beyond that, it is first-come, first-serve. You have to put cash or check in an envelope and place it in the holder. You better bring exact change. They now also have an online way to pay, however, there is little or no reception throughout the camp.
I tested my Verizon hotspot and Sprint but I was told AT&T doesn’t work either. The emails and text occasionally come through but it is absolutely not reliable and you can’t browse the internet.
It is a very nicely done park, it feels very remote yet only 3-mile drive away from major malls and the highway. I took my bike and rode down the hills and back up and it wasn’t that difficult.
The RV park section is small, only 16 spots but will full hookups and very clean bathrooms with coin showers. The sites are level and perfect fit for even bigger RVs.
The park also offers a playground, a huge green park area with older, mature trees, horse areas, and hiking trails. They also have a rentable picnic area for birthdays or get-togethers.
The park is somewhat remote and very quiet at night, you only hear animals. The camp host Tammy was very nice and helpful whenever I had questions she knew the answer.
Overall I really liked this park the only problem I had is no internet connection. I surely cannot stay extended periods here, although I would love to.
