boondockers 15 off

I’ve stayed at the Woods Valley RV park for a few nights in the winter, in December.

I arrived at 4:50 PM and the first thing I was told when I walked into the office to check in that “we are closed”. I told the guy that I had a reservation and just came to check-in. It turns out they are really closing at 5PM, I still had ten more minutes, so I am not sure why the welcome was so unfriendly. The guy told me which spot I have reserved and to come back the next day to see if my balance is paid in full.

The next morning I went back to the office, the lady there was a bit nicer, but not really chatty for sure. It seemed like she was sick maybe that’s why. But so far I wasn’t really pleased with the staff.

The park itself is cute, in the hills, the sites are not level, you better bring some leveling blocks. They have full hookups, partial hookups also tent sites. It reminds me of the California State Parks, not really like an RV resort. The sites are on the dirt, on the smaller size, but they are perfect for my class B RV.

The bathrooms are old but clean enough, there is hot water in the showers. The park seems well maintained. There are mostly full-time residents this time of year. There is the main clubhouse with tables and a small kitchen, a coffee maker which always has fresh coffee in the morning.

The Wi-Fi mainly works from inside the clubhouse, not so much outside. My site was very close to the building, my Roku worked fine, I was able to watch Netflix, but I wasn’t able to use the park internet on my computer for work. My Sprint and Verizon worked well.

The park has a pool which is not heated, so you cannot use it during winter. If you are at one of the sites below, you have to climb up to take a shower or do your laundry. There are only two washers and dryers. There is a duck pond, you can fish and release. There are two ponies and some goats. There are a swing set and a playground for kids. Besides all that, there is not much to do here for adults. There are no biking/hiking trails from the park, if you want to bike, you will have to use the main road which might be not the greatest idea, some cars are really going fast there. You really have to drive anywhere if you want to do something fun. There are casinos nearby.

Overall, the park is great for a few night’s stay, mostly for a summer weekend to get away from the city.
