Laundry is one of those never-ending tasks that seems to follow us wherever we go, whether it’s at home or on the road in our RV. There’s nothing more refreshing than being able to wear fresh new clothes every day, but the process of getting them clean can be a real pain, especially when you’re living in a small space.
While not all people have the time and energy to handwash their clothes while on vacation or even at a full-time RV park, having a washing machine in your rig can be a total game-changer. Not only will it save you time, but it will also give you the peace of mind of knowing that your clothes are getting clean without any extra effort on your part.
Now here comes the real challenge – usually smaller RVs don’t have washing machines. We know that larger RVs may be easier to accommodate a washing machine, but what about when space is limited? Well, I did my research and I did not find small RVs under 30 feet except the Host Truck Camper (see below) but what you can do is buy a small mobile washing machine that you can keep in your shower while you travel.

Taking your clothes to a laundromat sure takes off the challenging part of fitting a washing machine in your RV, but it also means leaving your rig to do your laundry. This involves taking your time, which can put a damper on your trip, and it also means spending extra money on laundry fees. This may also mean that your time spent could have been spent better somewhere else, like exploring the area you’re visiting!
On the other hand, here comes solution number two: looking for an RV that’s already equipped with a washing machine. This may seem like an impossible task, but we promise it’s not! While getting a small RV with a built-in washing machine and dryer is great, it might not always be feasible. If you’re looking for a small and compact washing machine that will fit in your RV, here are three of the best options we highly recommend:

Although this portable automatic washing machine is originally marketed for socks and underwear, it’s perfect for small RVs. This portable washing machine can be taken anywhere you go and can be folded and stored away easily.

Getting your laundry done while on the road can be a pain, but it doesn’t have to be. There are small, compact-sized RVs that are already equipped with a washing machine, but if you don’t have one of those, buying a compact washing machine in addition to your RV is a great way to make your road trip more enjoyable.
